Weight Loss Herbal Tea Recipes
There are a number of great weight loss herbal tea recipes. It’s a little known fact that all green and white teas are well known for their 'thermogenic' properties, which is the term given where the body temperature is raised so that it can burn more calories. Green and white teas have traditionally been used in Chinese medicine to refresh, detoxify and bring the immune system into balance. Some teas are more recognised for their weight loss potential than others, for instance it is accepted that white tea is slightly better than green tea for weight loss. White Teas and Their Herbal Benefits White herbal tea benefits come from the fact that white tea processed in a manner that it loses the "grassy" taste of green tea, while undergoing minimal oxidation. Like green, oolong and black tea, white tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant. A difference is that Oolong and black teas are oxidized before curing.

Popular varieties of white teas that are great for weight loss herbal tea recipes include Bai Hao, YinzhenBai, Mu Dan, Gong Mei, Shou Mei, White Puerh Tea, Ceylon White, Darjeeling White, Assam White, and African White. Wikipedia states that A 2009 Kingston University study showed that white tea had high anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-collagenase, and anti-elastase properties which could potentially reduce the risks of developing rheumatoid arthritis, some cancers, heart disease & slow the enzymatic break down of elastin and collagen (i.e. wrinkles or sagging) which accompany aging. Adding Additional Flavor to Herbal Tea Recipes Weight loss herbal tea recipes can be somewhat bland without some extra kick from various other healthy ingredients. For example, Chrysanthemum and Puerh Tea are a great combination that is both conducive to weight loss as well as nice on the palate. There are some great exotic mixes of white and green tea like Swirling Mist White Tea, Ginger and Peach Green Tea, Pomegranate and Raspberry Green Tea, Green Tea and Jasmine, or why not try Mint with Lemongrass and Green Tea. Oolong Tea is somewhere between green and black tea.
