Native Americans created their remedies from local ingredients and different tribes developed those remedies based upon what was available to them. Some of the plants and flowers used- as well as the area they were harvested from- were deeply sacred and reserved for religious or spiritual practices. Some are suprisingly common and used today, like the humble Pepper or Capsicum.
