Using Home Spa to Relax

How can home spa help you with stress? Well, if you occasionally suffer from increased levels of anxiety and nervous tension, you should think about developing better ways to deal with day to day stresses in your life. For me it’s a hot bath or gardening.

Stress is different for everyone, and can be as a result of simple issues like being in crowds, going to the dentist or doctor, or just having to deal with an intense boss. More significant stressors can be the death of a loved one, divorce, job loss or major changes to your position or financial problems.

Long-term stress can damage a person’s self esteem and confidence.

Understanding Your Reactions to Stress

A person’s emotional and physical reactions to stress are partly determined by their nervous system. Our nervous system is responsible for the fight or flight reaction in response to stress and excitement. That’s the feeling we get when something bad happens.

For some people, the fight or flight response comes into action more than it should, the result is a person who reacts to everyday issues as though they were emergencies. This can lead to emotional burnout and complete exhaustion.

The good news is that you can break this spiral by learning to manage stress in a way that protects and increases the levels of energy you have. Home spa -or hydrotherapy of any kind- can definitely be used to relieve stress.

Relaxation Techniques

Some people find it easy to relax: It’s all about finding what calms your mind the best. Golf, Yoga, gardening, walking, photography... they all tend to help certain people relax and the list could go on for pages and pages.

But what if you haven’t been able to find what works for you?

Relaxation techniques are an ideal way to combat stress; you can try different techniques until you find one that helps you. And of course, you can combine them with home spa and hydrotherapy.Focusing on something nice

Think of a personal object that represents something good. It might be a flower from your garden or a beach you love. Focus all of your attention on this object, and inhale then exhale slowly and deeply for one or two minutes. Don’t let any other thoughts or feelings enter your mind while you are focusing.

Try a Little Simple Meditation

Sit or lay down in a comfortable position and then close your eyes and breathe deeply. Your breathing should be slow and relaxed.

Focus all of your attention on your breathing. Take the time to watch the movement of your chest in and out.

Block all other thoughts, feelings, and sensations. If you feel your attention wandering, bring it back to your breathing.

As you inhale, say the word "peace" to yourself, and as you exhale, say the word "calm."

Continue this exercise until you feel very relaxed

Try Healing your Inner Child

Many of our fears of anxieties come from past bad experiences as children. These bad experiences stay with us, hidden deep inside, and can be simple fears like fear of the dark; or fear of being unlovable or fear of rejection. There are many books on this subject, and they make a great accompaniment to a home spa.
