Start you home spa day with the creation of some aromatic floral water
If you love a home spa day, one of the best recipes to start out with is floral water. While it is perfectly acceptable to buy aromatic floral waters (sometimes referred to as herbal waters or hydrosois), it’s much more fun to make it yourself and it’s also one of the easiest home spa recipes you can try. Floral waters are distilled waters that are made up of all natural, organic ingredients and lightly scented with some delicious aromas from mother-nature. Floral waters are enchanting additions to any herbal products you decide to make, especially moisturizing creams. And that’s really what home spa is all about- making all natural skin care products to spoil yourself. The really great thing about aromatic floral waters, is that they are much less concentrated than essential oils, so they are able to be used undiluted while at the same time offering much the same benefits as essential oils. Further more, there’s no need for sophisticated equipment, or a herbal encyclopedia to make herbal waters like sweet smelling rose water. Some Favorite Types of Floral Waters You can use just about any aromatic herbs to create organic floral waters. Although common favorites are rose, lavender, sage, marjoram, lemon balm, any type of mint, and lovage. If you’re going to use your floral water as a skin toner, rose and lavender are best for dry skin, while lemon balm and mint is fine for normal skin. If you have oily skin then try sage, rosemary or lovage.
