Stay at Home Spa Day: It’s Luxury on a Budget

SBI! eLearning

For the perfect luxury at home spa day, you can either go and spend a fortune somewhere like Bath and Body Works, or you can indulge in a little DIY beauty. I don’t want to be too critical of Bath and Body Works because the products are great, it’s just that tight budget sometimes don’t allow shopping trips there.

Speaking of DIY beauty, what home spa day of luxury would be complete without a little nonsurgical facelift and some relaxation tips to complete the indulgence.

Make a Simple Bubble Bath

For a very basic bubble bath that has a little more kick than those you might buy from the supermarket, you just need a lemon, 1 egg white, a packet of unflavored gelatin, a tablespoon of sesame or canola oil, a quarter cup of unscented liquid soap, and some essential oil flavors (lime, lemon, orange, grapefruit, etc).

Once you have all of that you’re ready for your stay at home spa day. Juice the lemon, then lightly beat the egg white. Gently fold the gelatin into the egg white and then combine everything in a bowl together. It’s that easy!

Follow it up with a pH Balance

Bubble baths can sometimes leave your skin dry and itchy, some people more so than others. To avoid this, rinse yourself thoroughly with clear water afterwards. This is easily achieved by taking a quick shower, or even better, have a second bath of a mix consisting of water and some lemon juice. This will return your skin to a more natural pH level, which is slightly acidic.

DIY Beauty Tips

While everyone else dreams of expensive botox treatments, the home spa goddesses of the world are partaking in the free gifts all around us. By this I mean the natural organic skin care ingredients that are so cheap and plentiful.

Nonsurgical facelifts are the best types if you ask me, botox treatments might be fine if you have the unlimited bank balance to maintain the injections, but what about the long-term effects of botox treatments?

The best nonsurgical facelift starts with cucumbers or potatoes for eye treatments. Simply spritz your eyes with cold water, and then cut some slices and place them over your eyes as you relax in your bubble bath. Some people get better results with cucumbers, and some with potatoes. Not only is this good for soothing puffy eyes, it’s a great relaxation tip for when you are listening to music and taking in the scents of your home spa.

While you are relaxing, why not try some herbal tea. I have numerous articles relating to tea and herbal medicines, why not start with this one that discusses weight loss tea recipes.

Complete your Nonsurgical Facelift

To complete your diy beauty regime, try an egg-white mix to plump up your skin and remove any crow’s feet. Just beat an egg white until just before it forms soft peaks and then dab it softly around your eyes and cheeks. Allow it to dry for ten minutes and spritz with cold water before you gently remove with a cotton ball and more cold water. This will complete your luxury at home spa day.
