All natural skin care using organic scrubs

Site Build It!

All natural skin care is easy to practice and inexpensive. You can offer your skin some tone and texture by using simple scrubs that you can make yourself with just a few basic, organic ingredients. What’s more, they are perfect for home spa parties.

An organic scrub will rid the skin of dry, scaly and flaky skin which is often a result of over exposure to dry heat or cold or other effects of your environment. The organic body scrub will encourage blood flow, giving moisturizers a chance to do their work and remove unwanted toxins.

Sea-Salt Body Scrub

1 cup fine sea salt

1/2 cup grape-seed, hazelnut or soybean oil

10 drops grapefruit essential oil

10 drops juniper essential oil

Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and stir thoroughly, then smooth the mixture onto damp skin. Don’t forget to massage it in really well. This is perfect to concentrate on any problem skin areas of the body, like your feet.

Almond and Bran Scrub

1/2 cup very finely ground almonds

1/2 cup course wheat bran

1 cup hot green tea

10 drops lavender essential oil

Green Tea is a great ingredient for any natural home spa recipes because it's full of antioxidants.

Mix the almonds and bran together in a bowl. Add the tea to the mixture and then stir until the mixture forms a smooth paste. Cool it just to body temperature before you use it. Add the lavender essential oil and make sure that you have thoroughly blended the mixture.

Seed Scrub

1 cup finely ground flaxseed or sunflower seeds

1/2 cup heavy cream or milk

Combine the seeds and the cream or milk in a small bowl and stir thoroughly. This scrub is so gentle that it can be used daily, even on very sensitive skin. It's especially good in the winter, when skin tends to dry out because of the dry air.

A General Guide for Application

All natural skin care is easy to apply. Just spread a generous amount of your body scrub onto damp skin, then thoroughly massage with firm circular motions. Rinse off with plenty of warm water, and follow with an application of your favorite moisturizer.

Why use Natural, Organic Ingredients?

A number of natural substances can serve as exfoliating agents. Sea salt, whether it’s fine or coarse, serves well to remove different toxins. It will also supply minerals to tissue and stimulate circulation.

Some exfoliating agents also aid in tightening and toning skin: A sea-salt scrub can help with repairing the dimpled look of cellulite, while ground almonds are gentle, and provide more moisture.

One of my favorite ingredients for facial skin care products is wheat or oat bran, which are excellent, non-abrasive and non-irritating exfoliators for sensitive skin.

Grape-seed, hazelnut and soybean oil penetrate the skin readily. They supply essential fatty acids to the skin, giving elasticity and a soft appearance.

The caffeine contained in green tea helps to tighten and tone your skin. There’s a great video below this article showing how to create and use a simple facial scrub made of green tea and sugar. The tea is great for oily skin, and makes a great ingredient for all natural skin care recipes .
